Illinois Humanities Grantee Partner Spotlight - Mendota Museum & Historical Society

The Mendota Museum & Historical Society in La Salle County is preserving local history through community‑centered storytelling and public humanities programming. With support from an Illinois Humanities Project Grant, MMHS produced Where Our Paths Meet / Donde Nuestros Caminos Se Encuentran, a documentary and exhibit highlighting migration stories from Mendota’s Hispanic community. The project strengthens community connection by archiving oral histories and ensuring these stories are accessible for future generations.
