Improving the conditions under which art thrives by supporting all forms of art and combating notions of exclusivity.
Illinois Humanities strengthens the arts by nurturing open and curious audiences, promoting dialogue about art, combating exclusivity, creating new spaces (physical and otherwise) for art, and brokering relationships across communities.
In the interest of the health and safety of our staff, partners, program participants and the general public during this extraordinary time, we are suspending all Illinois Humanities programming through Monday, May 11. Staff will be working remotely, and all work-related travel is being canceled. In no way are grantees or program providers going to be financially penalized or asked to return grant funding for taking necessary precautions during this time.
