The annual Chautauquas presented by the Morgan County Historical Society are filled with historical re-enactments, storytelling, lectures, music, and dance.
Share in the fun of the 2007 Chautauqua, Voices for Freedom and Justice, as the Morgan County Historical Society introduces: Paul Robeson, William Wilberforce, and Theodore Roosevelt.

5 PM: William Wilberforce (1759-1833), “Crusader Against the Slave Trade,” portrayed by John McCord, Jacksonville
6 PM: Supper*
7 PM: Music by the Capital Chamber Singers, from Springfield, IL
8 PM: Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), “Square Dealer and Peacemaker,” portrayed by John Chalberg, Bloomington, MN
