Join us as our OpenICE series continues with performances by Ryan Muncy and Mocrep, followed by a discussion facilitated by The Dilettantes.
A new season of OpenICE, in partnership with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), continues with this incredible pairing of three of Chicago’s most dynamic performer collectives working at the borders of music and theatre.
ICE and Mocrep join forces for a captivating set of performances.
Afterward, The Dilettantes will led a conversation about the musicians’ practice with plenty of time for back-and-forth with the audience.

The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) is dedicated to reshaping the way music is created and experienced. With a modular makeup of 33 leading instrumentalists performing in forces ranging from solos to large ensembles, ICE functions as performer, presenter, and educator, advancing the music of our time by developing innovative new works and new strategies for audience engagement. ICE redefines concert music as it brings together new work and new listeners in the 21st century.
Mocrep is a Chicago-based ensemble dedicated to the performance of radical, 21st century music that engages with contemporary culture – aesthetically, socially, and politically. They specialize in works that not only synthesize music, theater, and performance art, but productively embrace the differences between these mediums. In this way, they hope to expose and explore new possibilities in performance today. For more, visit mocrep.org.
