The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) is presenting U.S.Marine Corps veteran Phil Klay, author of Redeployment, a collection of short stories about war and its psychological impact, at the Old State Capitol Historic Site on Thursday, November 13 at 6:00 PM, for a free book reading and discussion. Klay‘s recent book is one of five finalists for the 2014 National Book Award in fiction.
Co-presented with the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency (IHPA) and the Illinois Library Association, the event is open to the public, but registration is recommended and can be made online. Springfield is one of three Illinois cities Klay will visit; he will be in Urbana on November 11 and Carbondale on November 12.
