Norma Ramos, from the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement, will be joining us as our guest speaker. CNN’s “Chicagoland” is a non-scripted, eight-part original series about a heartland American city. The series will explore where politics and policy meet real people’s lives — in a city generating change and innovation in social policy, education, and public safety — to meet national and local challenges.
Questions For Consideration:
Is “Chicagoland” a fair and accurate portrayal of the communities and residents of Chicago? What stories are missing from the documentary, if any? What has the documentary done well in terms of sparking informed debate about issues affecting Chicago? How well do the characters portrayed in the piece tell Chicago’s story?
